20" wide x 55" long running belt with Softrack cushioning |
The belt itself on both treadmills is 1 ply, 1.5mm thick but the cushioning differs between the two treadmills with the Schwinn 830 utilizing extra cushioning of 4-cell design compared to the 3-cell design of the Schwinn 810. Both treadmill belts run super smoothly with the Schwinn 830 utilizing 2.5” crowned rollers while the Schwinn 810 utilizes 2” rollers.
Both the Schwinn 830 and Schwinn 810 Treadmills come with an easy-to-use console featuring an easy-on-the-eyes blue backlit LCD screen that tracks and displays motivating workout stats such as time, speed, distance, pace, laps, calories and heart-rate. The Schwinn 830 allows for 2 more user profiles than the 810 (4 user profiles on the 830, 2 on the 810), so more people in your household can use the treadmill and keep track of their individual workout stats.
Both consoles feature a great range of built-in workout programs although the Schwinn 830 has more built-in programs at 22 compared to the Schwinn 810’s 16 built-in programs. Program variety includes Training, Weight, Heart-health, Quick-goal, Intervals, Custom and Manual control.

The Schwinn 810 is the newest addition to the Schwinn treadmill range and offers the ability to sync with the Explore the World App (subscription required) on your mobile phone/tablet for online fitness tracking and a wide range of additional and exciting workouts including training routes from around the world, with new scenic destinations added regularly. You can move at your own pace as the App auto adjusts to your speed.
The Schwinn 830 does NOT offer connectivity to the Explore the World App but you can export your workout data via the treadmill’s USB port for online fitness tracking to Schwinn Connect and My Fitness Pal.
Both the Schwinn 830 and 810 Treadmills offer contact pulse grip heart-rate monitoring to help you stay within your target heart-rate zone as you exercise. The Schwinn 830 also offers telemetry heart-rate monitoring.
Additional high-end features found on both the Schwinn 830 and 810 consoles include: a sound system with Acoustic chamber stereo speakers with MP3 input so you can listen to your favorite music; a USB charging port; a 3-speed cooling fan; and a media shelf to place your mobile phone/tablet to keep entertained as you exercise. There’s also a water bottle holder on each side of the console so you can keep hydrated as you workout.

Both treadmills are sturdily built for long-lasting durability. The overall weight of the Schwinn 830 Treadmill is slightly heavier than the 810 – the 830 weighs around 91 kg compared to the 810’s 70 kg. Given the heavier weight of the treadmill and the more powerful motor, the Schwinn 830 allows for a higher user weight capacity of 300 lbs compared to the Schwinn 810’s 273 lbs user weight capacity.
The treadmills footprints are very close in dimensions, with the Schwinn 830 measuring around 72.2” long x 35.2” wide x 57.6” high compared to the Schwinn 810’s measurements of 69” long x 35.6” wide x 56.7” high.

Summary:
Ideal for home use, the Schwinn 830 and Schwinn 810 Treadmills sit somewhere between the entry-level and mid-range treadmills, and are very competitively priced considering their impressive build quality and great range of features - they easily compete with treadmills in the higher-priced categories.
The Schwinn 830 has the slight edge over the Schwinn 810 thanks to its slightly more powerful motor, better cushioning system, higher speed/incline range, more built-in programs, and a slightly higher user weight capacity. If there are more than 2 people in your household who are likely to use the treadmill on a regular basis, then the Schwinn 830 would be the choice for you as it offers up to 4 user profiles.
However, the Schwinn 810 is still an impressive treadmill and if you like the idea of the Explore the World App and all that has to offer, then this would be the one for you!
N.B. It’s always advisable to consult your doctor or health care professional before undertaking any new exercise regime.
